Established in terms of section 6 of the Judicial Laws Amendment (Ease of Settling Commercial and Other Disputes) Act, 2017. It is a Magistrates Court before which a commercial dispute is brought. It currently sits in Harare and Bulawayo.
Business of Hours
8am – 1pm and 2pm-4pm every weekday excluding public holidays.
Has jurisdiction in the first instance over civil disputes arising out of a transaction in the course of business such as: the formation, management, transfer or dissolution of a business entity; the contractual relationship of a business entity with another such entity or with another person or persons undertaken in the course of business;
the contractual or delictual liability of a business or of a person engaged in a business that arises in the course of business activities;
disputes primarily involving banking and financial services; the restructuring or payment of business
NB Any such claim must not exceed $10 000.00
Anyone can approach the Commercial Court in person or be represented by a legal practitioner of their choice.
All court documents are filed with the Clerk of Court of the Small Claims Commercial Court.
Process starts with a Letter of Demand.
If after 7 days Defendant does not honour claim, then Summons are issued.
Defendant MAY then also file a Statement of Defence but MUST file a written counterclaim if any.

Rescission of order - $4.00
Writ of execution-$4.00
There is no right of appeal. One can only review it at the High Court.
